How I grew pot in my kitchen window last winter!

I found a simple and EASY way to grow either THC or CBD in my kitchen window.

Here is a simple guide so you can do it too!

How to Crack and Grow from Seed:

  1. In Mid-October, get some seeds (you can find a selection at https://cannabis-seed.us/)
  2. Get a heater. I prefer oil heaters (they look like radiators) because they are the easiest to control, but a space heater will also work.
  3. Put the heater in a small space or room. You want the space to be 85 degrees F.
  4. Place your seed in a cup and cover with water that has been standing for at least 24 hours (so there is no more chlorine) for 20 hours or so, not longer than 24 hours as the seeds can drown if they are in the water too long.
  5. After 20 hours, remove the seed and put it between two paper towels that are damp, but not soaking wet. Check it every 4 to 6 hours. Do not let the paper towels dry out, which can happen quickly in a warm space that hastens drying. Add day-old water as necessary to keep the towels damp. The seed should crack over the next couple of days, exposing a tiny root.
  6. Find a red Solo cup (they are inexpensive and can be found everywhere) and poke 4 3/8 inch holes in the bottom. Fill halfway with Fox Farm soil and add some day-old water. Pay attention so the soil does not dry out, but don’t overwater either. Use your common sense to keep the soil moist.
  7. Place the cracked seedling root down into the soil about ¼ inch below the surface. NOT TOO DEEP! Cover the cup with plastic wrap. Check every day to make sure the soil stays damp. As the seedling grows, remove the plastic cover to avoid stunting the growth of your plant.
  8. When the plant is 5 to 8 inches tall, transplant it into your 2-gallon (or slim 5-gallon) pot.
  9. The vegetative process takes about 2 months. Feed once per week with vegetative food following the manufacturer’s guidelines. We recommend XXX food that is balanced with buffers so you don’t require a pH meter, as they are expensive.

The winter solstice in the Northern Hemisphere is the third week of December. Although this date varies slightly from year to year you can aim your grow to this approximate time for cannabis. At this time switch the feeding to bloom food and use for the rest of your grow. Stop adding nutrients and fertilizer two weeks prior to your harvest to flush the plant with plain water to remove the chemistry taste and smell from you plant.

Regular plants can differ from autoflower plants, but the basic concepts are the same.

Start the vegetative process 2 to 3 months before the solstice depending on the strain used. And grow 2 to 3 months after the solstice for the bloom cycle depending on the strain used.

Cannabis is very easy to grow. Not meaning to be funny… but it is a weed!

So, you’re growing weed, lol!

What’s Needed:

  • Nutrient rich soil (my preference is Fox Farm Ocean Forest).
  • 2-gallon or narrow 5-gallon pot.
  • Container bucket with top to store water (to eliminate chlorine).
  • One step nutrient for vegetative stage.
  • One step nutrient for bloom stage.

Advantages:

  • Simple.
  • Easy.
  • No expensive equipment.
  • No added utilities.
  • No pH meter required.

Disadvantages:

  • Lower yields (professional growers have huge advantages over this process but with more labor costs and much higher equipment costs).
  • Not enough light.
  • Cramped space and little room for your plant.
